Who said drugstore makeup doesn’t work as good as high end makeup? Of course, high end makeup are luxurious products mostly from well-known and loved designers, but with the high price range, looking for similar and cheaper alternatives sounds like a great idea. In fact, there have been a few times drugstore products worked even better than the high end ones! *what*
There are a few drugstore makeup brands that I really love and Maybelline is definitely one of them. I love their mascaras, in fact, Maybelline mascaras are my favorite drugstore mascaras! I also love their Fit Me collection, and obviously, the Baby Lips.
I’ve recently done some Maybelline shopping as I’ve been going back to my all-time favorite face powder from the Fit Me collection, and bought a few pieces that I’m going to tell you about. Luckily for you, I’ll also be showing you a makeup look using only the products from the haul! How exciting is that, right?
The superstar product of this haul is this gorgeous lookin’ palette, called The Nudes. I love that it has nude & neutral type of colors which are my favorites, a great mixture of both matt and glittery shades.
For my look, I’m applying the second color from the first row all over my lid and then I’m applying the first shade from the second row // just a little bit onto my crease and then I blend it all together. I’m also bringing it down to my bottom lash line for a more defined look. I’m taking the white shade and I’m highlighting under my brow bone for defined eyebrows.
This look is perfect for daytime, but you can easily spice it up for the evening by adding more shadow to the crease or going for darker shades. You could also go for a lipstick or lipgloss then, as the Baby Lips I’m going to be using might not be enough for an evening makeup look.
I wanted to get the Lash Sensational Mascara for a while now, as I’ve heard so many great things about it. Let’s just say, I’m not disappointed. I love the brush of this mascara, as it lengthens and curls my lashes truly beautiful without making them look clumpy.
I apply a few coats of it on my upper lashes, as well as on my bottom lashes.
Moving on to my skin, I’ll be using three products from the Fit Me collection. It’s my first time trying the foundation and concealer, as I’ve tried the face powder before and absolutely loved it! I’m applying my foundation, which is in the shade 120, with my damped beauty blender all over the face and concealer, which is in the shade 10, under my eyes.
I love how natural looking this foundation is. It makes my skin radiant and smooth, without making it look cakey. It also blends in nicely and stays on for the whole day. The concealer is fantastic as well. I guess it’s pretty much the same formula as the foundation, but it definitely covers up more than the foundation does, just as it’s supposed to.
I’m setting everything together with my holy grail face powder, which I’ve been loving for about two years now. Sometimes I’m only applying the face powder as it offers enough coverage and a natural look. It also comes with a mirror which is perfect for on-the-go and an applicator which again, is really handy on the go.
To finalize the look, I’m applying my latest Baby Lips purchase, the Peach Kiss. I love that, ignoring the fact they’re super cute, they are moisturizing and give the lips a beautiful tint. They also smell really good, which for me, It’s always a bonus.
These products are amazing, proof that there are some amazing alternatives to high end makeup. The best thing? They’re affordable!
