Bergen must be my favorite city in Norway so far! I just love the vibes, great people and chill atmosphere. I’ve been staying in Bergen for the weekend, which was a great idea as I’ve been taking a short break from full-time social media and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Can we take a moment to give a shootout to this gorgeous Spring weather? I mean, what the flip flop is happening? No no, I’m not complaining – I’m pure and simple astonished by the tropical fancy weather that’s been in Bergen while I’ve been staying here.
There are so many things that you can do in Bergen, your choice is really yours. A must-see attraction (not even speaking about the famous Bryggen), is definitely Fløyen, which I’ve talked about on my blog last week. Is an absolute must-see, as you get an incredible view over the city from one of the most famous mountains in Bergen.
Bergen is also great for when it comes to shopping. Many well-known retailers filling the main streets, but also a great variety of wool/handmade stores. Not to talk about souvenirs boutiques.. there are enough trolls for everyone!
Even trolls get hungry, so if you’re feeling super Norwegian, you need to check out the restaurant Bryggeloftet & stuene. They have a great variety of Norwegian cuisine, another great thing about it? It is located exactly on the Bryggen – which makes it super easy to find daah.
I had a vegan burger & potatoes which was ah-mazing. Everything tasted delicious and the whole experience was real lovely. The restaurant is located in an old building, the interior is almost similar to a museum, no kidding. Is a really lovely atmosphere and the staff are really nice. If you’re ever in Bergen and would like to skip pizza/pasta for a day as I’ve somehow managed to do, then I highly recommend this place!
The Fortress & Holmen Castle are also a must-see if you’re ever in Bergen, but this is more for the people somehow interested in history and architecture as it obviously is something historical.
End your day or spoil yourself right in the middle of the day as I did with a Starbucks order. There is a Starbucks situated just next to the Bryggen, but I’m pretty sure there is another one just a few minutes away. I’ve ordered what I always order ‘cause I guess I love my comfort zone and chocolate, so a Chocolate Frappucino was my moment of joy that day!
