I don’t always follow trends as I don’t think they always make a great & long-term investment, but this year I’m all about them. I may not always follow trends, but I do pay attention to what’s new, and especially to the beauty of new fashion collections. I’ve been absolutely loving the pieces & details of Oscar de la Renta’s Summer 2017 collection. Can we please take a moment and appreciate this beautiful collection?
This year has been surprisingly full of trends I’ve been trying to incorporate into my wardrobe. Everything from pink to stripes, honestly, there has been so much I’ve been loving! I must admit that I’ve skipped the 80’s comeback and big shoulder wave, which I’ve never been a fan of. Instead, I’ve been sticking to logos (t-shirts), which I’m obsessed with, and of course, a lot of white.
I really like ruffles, as long as there aren’t too many of them. They’re perfect both for daytime and nighttime, and you can easily wear dress them up and dress them down.
Pink has been such a popular shade this spring/summer and it continues to be throughout the summer as well! Even though I don’t actually own any red pieces, I still think it makes a great pick. Especially if you pull off a combination between red and pink!
I’ve been seeing bralettes everywhere this season as they are super popular and pretty. They’re perfect for you with a love of wearing underwear as outerwear. BUT the fabric and appearance are obviously a little different from regular underwear, therefore keep this in mind when shopping bralettes. There are different ways you can wear them and they come in different colors and patterns.
I’ve always been a fan of stripes, especially vertical ones as they elongate. This season is all about stripes, either vertical or horizontal, school or sailor, stripes are everywhere!
See-through fabrics can look feminine and beautiful on, just as long you’re wearing them right. Go for a classy look when wearing such pieces to be safe, or make sure the styling is adequate when taking chances.
Last but not least, all-white is back in the game. I love this trend, even though we all know how it all ends at the end of the day…
